Who Handles Property Taxes in Webb County
Two addresses in Laredo run your property taxes, and they do different jobs. The Webb County Appraisal District, at 3302 Clark Blvd, decides what your property is worth for tax purposes. That's the office you call when you think your value is too high, or when you want to file for a homestead or ag exemption.
The Tax Assessor-Collector's office, over at 1110 Victoria St., Suite 107, is the one that mails the bill and takes your payment. It also bundles together nine separate taxing units into a single statement (Webb County, three school districts, the cities of Laredo, Rio Bravo, and El Cenizo, a junior college, and a drainage district), so the bill you get is the sum of every rate that touches your address.
If your question is about the number, go to the appraisal district. If it's about paying the number, go to the tax office. Sending the same question to the wrong building is the most common reason people get bounced back and forth.
