Who handles property taxes in Newton County

The Newton Central Appraisal District (CAD) appraises every property in the county. It also handles exemptions. The appraisal district does not collect taxes. It only sets values. You deal with them if you want a homestead exemption or if you think your value is wrong.

The Newton County Tax Assessor-Collector is a separate office. That office sends tax bills and collects payments. Both offices sit on Court Street in Newton.
