A Hopkins tax question may belong at one of three desks
Start at 858 Gilmer Street when the question is about value, an exemption, or a protest. That is the Hopkins County Appraisal District, reached at 903-885-2173. Payment is less tidy. The county tax office at 128 Jefferson Street, Suite D, collects for the county and several other local units, but not every active unit.
The useful shortcut is printed on the bill: use the collector named there for payment or a balance. Take a value dispute back to the appraisal district. The two offices work on the same property-tax system, but they do different jobs.
