Who Handles Property Tax in Frio County
Your property value and your property bill are decided in two different buildings, a few blocks apart in Pearsall. The Frio County Appraisal District, at 815 S. Oak St., is where someone sets a dollar figure on your house or land each year. If that figure looks too high, this is the office you protest to, and FCAD is where the homestead and exemption forms live.
The Tax Assessor-Collector sits over at 500 E. San Antonio St. They don't set values; they print the bill off the appraisal roll, take your payment, and register your vehicle. So if you're arguing about what your land is worth, that's S. Oak St.; if you're paying or you need a sticker, that's E. San Antonio St. Walking into the wrong one is the most common way to lose an afternoon.
