Proctor Lake Offers Public Fishing and Boat Ramps

Proctor Lake sits off US 67 in Comanche County. TPWD lists it as one of the best hybrid striped bass lakes in the state. The lake also holds largemouth bass, white crappie, channel catfish, blue catfish, and flathead catfish.

There are four access points (Promontory Point, Sowell Creek, Park at Dam, and Copperas Creek), all open year-round and managed by the US Army Corps of Engineers. Each has concrete boat ramps, parking, restrooms, and picnic areas. Some have camping. Fees apply. Call the Corps at 254-879-2424 or check TPWD's lake page before your trip, since hours and fees can change.
