Beach Access
Pocket Park #4 Is a Free Beach Landing on Galveston's West End
The long West End of Galveston Island, the stretch running out Termini–San Luis Pass Road past the subdivisions, isn't lined with big beach parks. What it has instead are pocket parks, small public landings that keep the open beach reachable, and Pocket Park #4 sits at 23200 Termini–San Luis Pass Road, well down toward the San Luis Pass end.
It's about as simple as a beach stop gets: a free parking lot, no entry fee, open sunrise to sunset. You pull in, walk over, and you're on the Gulf — no PayByPhone, no Seawall meter, no state-park gate. For a quick swim or an evening walk out on the quieter end of the island, that's the whole appeal.
Keep in mind the West End surf has no lifeguards and the currents near San Luis Pass run strong, so this is a spot for a calm-water dip and a beach chair rather than a long swim out.
