Dallas County Has Several Ways to Pay Taxes Over Time
The Dallas County Tax Office takes partial payments in any amount. Penalty and interest still grow on the unpaid balance. Some homestead owners may get a plan that lasts up to 12 months after the February 1 due date. Owners who qualify by age, disability, or disabled-veteran status may get four payments if the first is made by January 31.
A tax deferral is another choice for some homesteads. It pauses collection action and lowers some charges, but the taxes still grow. The bill comes due no later than 180 days after the owner dies or sells the home. Call 214-653-7811 to sort out the current dates and which route fits the account.
