Marriage License
Start a Dallas County marriage license online
The Dallas County marriage-license line starts before 500 Elm Street. Fill out the online application before you plan the walk-in. When it is done, you get an order number. Keep it. That number goes with you to Dallas County.
The same online start covers an informal marriage certificate. After the license is issued, watch the clock. The license expires if the ceremony does not happen before the 90th day. The 72-hour wait still applies unless a waiver or approved premarital class route applies.
The Records Building vital-records office is Suite 2100. Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, except court-approved holidays. Bring accepted ID. Dallas County also lets you order certified copies online. Couples often need those later for name changes, benefits, or records.
