Lake O' the Pines Offers Fishing on Upshur County's Edge

The lake spans parts of Marion, Morris, Upshur, and Camp counties. It sits on Big Cypress Creek in the Cypress River Basin. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers manages it. At summer pool the lake covers about 19,780 acres with a maximum depth of about 49.5 feet.

Largemouth bass, crappie, channel catfish, white bass, and sunfish are common catches. Some special regulations apply — including a mandatory-keep rule for crappie in winter months. Texas Parks and Wildlife regulates fishing. Check TPWD for a current fishing license and the latest regulations before you go.
