Lake Bridgeport Offers Fishing and Boating in Wise County
Lake Bridgeport sits on the West Fork Trinity River in Wise and Jack counties, off US 380 near Bridgeport. TPWD lists it at 11,954 surface acres and up to 85 feet deep, with largemouth bass, catfish, crappie, and other warm-water fish.
Boat access is worth checking before you tow over. TPWD links lake-level and ramp information from its Lake Bridgeport page, and Water Data for Texas posts daily reservoir conditions. A low lake can change which ramp makes sense.
Before you leave with a boat, drain the hull, livewells, and bait buckets. TPWD lists Lake Bridgeport as zebra-mussel positive, and moving zebra mussels to another water body is illegal.
