Whitetails range all through the broken country below the Caprock here, and you can take 5 deer in a season, though only 1 of them can be a buck. Motley also falls in the Panhandle mule deer zone, so a second kind of deer is in play, and the rules are stricter. A legal mule deer buck has to carry an outside antler spread of 20 inches or more, and you get one of those for the year.
