Hunting Rules on State-Owned Riverbeds in La Salle County

Do not treat a riverbed as a free hunting spot just because it is public. For the 2025-26 Outdoor Annual, the rule is blunt in La Salle and McMullen counties: no possessing, shooting, or hunting with a firearm or archery gear on public water and state-owned riverbeds.

The listed exception is waterfowl hunting on a reservoir owned, operated, or maintained by a government entity. For any other setup, read the Outdoor Annual first. This page is valid from September 1, 2025, through August 31, 2026.
