Private well checks in Liberty County start with state records

A rural Liberty County place may use a private well, but Lower Trinity GCD is not the right office for this county. TWDB's GMA 14 table puts Liberty under 'No District-County.' Lower Trinity rows show Polk and San Jacinto. Do not assume a Liberty County well needs a Lower Trinity permit.

Still, use real records. Texas requires water-well drillers and pump installers to be licensed through TDLR. TWDB has tools for well reports, nearby wells, water levels, and water quality. If rural land has a well, ask for the well report, the driller or pump installer name, and a recent water test.
