Fireworks Sales and Displays Go Through the Fire Marshal

Fireworks in Williamson County mean more than a stop at a roadside stand on the Fourth. If you want to run that stand, renew it for the next season, or put on an actual display, all three go through the county Fire Marshal.

A fireworks stand is applied for on an electronic form the Fire Marshal prescribes, and you submit a copy of your Fireworks Retail Permit with it. A display is its own application, and it asks for a detailed list of the fireworks or pyrotechnic effects you plan to set off.

If you're just buying, what decides whether you can legally light anything is your spot inside city limits or under a local fire restriction. If you're the seller, the event host, or the operator pointing the mortars at the sky, the current Fire Marshal forms and lead times are what stand between you and a stand or show you can't actually open — and the seasonal window fills up faster than people expect.
