Deer hunting in Mills County has antler restrictions
Cedar and live oak run thick over the hills around Goldthwaite, and the white-tailed deer they hold are worth the drive. Mills sits in the North Zone. Across all the combined seasons you can take five deer total, and two of those at most can be bucks. The spread is where good hunters get tripped up. Of your two bucks, only one is allowed an inside spread of 13 inches or wider. The other has to be a spike or fall short of that 13-inch line, which means passing on a young eight-pointer that hasn't grown into himself yet.
Turkey carries its own catch out here: every bird you take has to be logged, no exceptions in this county. Bag limits and dates shift around year to year, so whatever the Outdoor Annual says the morning you head out is the version that holds.
