Stephenville Calls Itself the Cowboy Capital of the World
Stephenville puts the nickname in plain city business. In the city vision, it remains the family-oriented Cowboy Capital of the World and the City of Champions.
Dublin adds the older rodeo layer. Everett Colborn settled in Erath County in 1936. Dublin held its first World's Championship Rodeo at City Park in 1940, and Colborn Bowl followed in 1946.
That gives Erath County a lived-in rodeo identity. It is not just a festival line. Stephenville and Dublin both use it to explain who they are.
