Center has several county counters close together, but they do not handle the same records. As checked July 31, 2026, the Shelby County Clerk was listed at 124 Austin Street in Center, with a mailing address of P.O. Box 1987 and a main phone number of 936-598-6361.

The clerk page links the county's public-record search and a property-fraud alert. Its record-search route includes real-property documents. That makes Austin Street the starting point for those clerk-side records.

Election and voter-registration questions go to the Shelby County Elections Administrator at 200 San Augustine Street. District-court records go to the District Clerk in Suite B at that same San Augustine Street address. Property-tax and motor-vehicle work use the tax office there too.
