Boerne's Cibolo Trail Turns the Creek Into a Town Spine

Start behind Main Plaza at Waterworks Terrace, and the paved Cibolo Trail follows Cibolo Creek for 1.75 miles to City Park by the Municipal Pool. It then continues south another 1.4 miles toward Herff Falls. Put together, the route runs a little over 3 miles through Boerne.

The trail does more than trace water. It runs the full length of River Road Park and offers several places to step into or out of historic downtown. Near the meeting of Cibolo and Currey creeks, a 150-foot footbridge sits among the trees above a waterfall and clear stream.

Because the route is fully paved, walking, biking, and running share the same line through town. Paved parking is available at both trailheads. Water fountains, rest stops, restrooms, and picnic tables appear along the way. Main Plaza, downtown, River Road Park, and City Park stop feeling like separate points; the creek and trail read as the line that joins them.
