Stephenville's river trail links City Park with downtown

The Bosque River Trail begins on the west side of the Graham Street bridge in Stephenville City Park. It follows the river's north bank for 8,000 feet, or about 1.5 miles, before ending near East Tarleton Street.

Along the way, the path connects City Park, the Boy Scout area, the Stephenville Historical House Museum, and downtown. Open and wooded stretches trade places. Benches, lights, rest stops, mile markers, bike storage, native plants, and animal tracks sandblasted into the concrete fill out the route.

The trail spent almost three decades in city park plans before opening on October 28, 2010. A $2.2 million project finally turned the idea into an everyday river walk through the middle of Stephenville.
