The appraisal district, tax units, and collector do different jobs

Property tax does not come from one desk. Henderson CAD appraises property, applies exemptions and special appraisals, and receives protests. It does not set tax rates or collect the bill.

A city, school district, county, or other taxing unit adopts its own rate. The county tax assessor-collector bills and collects only for the units it serves. Another unit may use a different collector.

Start with Henderson CAD for a value, exemption, or protest. Use the Comptroller directory to find the collector for a bill or payment question. Avoid relying on an old phone number or office address.
