Two offices handle your property tax in Dawson County

The Dawson County Central Appraisal District sets the value on your property. It also handles exemption applications, including the homestead exemption. The appraisal district is at 1806 Lubbock Hwy in Lamesa and can be reached at 806-872-7060.

A separate office, the Tax Assessor-Collector, sends the tax bills and collects payments. Those are two different jobs done by two different people. If you want to dispute your value or file for a homestead exemption, go to the appraisal district. If you need to pay or ask about a bill, contact the tax office.
